Lahore (Education Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced an extension in the deadline for the Honhaar Merit-Based Scholarship Program, moving the last date to October 26, 2025.
The decision was made to accommodate students affected by the recent floods, which disrupted academic activities across several districts.
About the Honhaar Scholarship Program
The program—launched through the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC)—aims to:

Reduce the financial burden on parents.

Ensure that deserving students continue their education without interruption.

Protect academic progress during natural calamities.
Around 30,000 scholarships have been announced for undergraduate students, covering full tuition fees at public sector universities and colleges in Punjab.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, students must:

Hold a Punjab domicile (some exceptions for other provinces apply).

Belong to families with a monthly income of less than Rs. 300,000–350,000.

Have scored at least 60–70% marks in FA/FSc/ICS or equivalent exams.

Be enrolled in a public sector university or college in Punjab.

Not be receiving any other fully funded scholarship.

For Medicine/Dentistry: Only 2nd to 5th year students are eligible. Similar semester-based rules apply for other programs.
How to Apply
The application process is online only via the PHEC Honhaar Scholarship Portal. Students must:

Register using a CNIC, mobile number, and email ID.

Fill in personal, academic, and income details.
