The Punjab government has rolled out driving simulators in schools across 28 districts, a major step toward modernizing driver training and improving road safety standards.
🚦 Expansion Across Punjab
According to Punjab DIG Traffic Muhammad Waqas Nazir, simulators were installed in 20 new districts this month alone, raising the total from just 8 districts last month to 28 today.
By the end of this month, all 38 districts of Punjab are expected to be equipped with the technology.
📍 Where It Started
-
First Phase: Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad
-
Second Phase: Gujranwala, Multan, Sahiwal, Okara, Gujrat, and others
-
Now: Majority of Punjab’s districts, with full coverage expected soon
🎮 How the Training Works
Training with simulators is conducted in two stages:
-
Simulator Practice: Learners first gain experience in a safe, controlled digital environment.
-
On-Road Sessions: After virtual practice, students move to real-road driving with better confidence.
Officials believe this approach will produce more skilled and responsible drivers, reducing accidents and ensuring public safety.
